WELCOME TO LAKE NASSER ADVENTURE
|
|
|
|
We
thank you for your interest in our company and would like to present to you
our latest programme on Lake Nasser. We invite you to navigate with us
through the desert by boat, a unique experience in the world’s largest
desert.
|
|
In the year 2002 we decided to
develop, besides our strong experience in game fishing, a new travel concept
on Lake Nasser and invented boat-trekking, a creative way of discovering the
Nubian desert and a few beautiful temples between Aswan and Abu Simbel. It is
a very comfortable way of travelling into remote parts of the desert, because
we take the water way. Since 2007 we offer also an upscale version of our
adventure trips with a small cruise boat with cabins and extra comfort. It is
our latest development.

In the 1960's, President Nasser
ordered to build a second dam on the Nile near Aswan, resulting in flooding
over 6,200km2 of the Nile Valley to the south, creating one of the largest
man-made lakes in Africa. The lake is 550km long and its shores reach an
incredible 7,844km.
|
|
With no doubt it is one of the most
impressive regions of Upper Egypt. Far away from civilisation and a few
cruise ships on the lake, you will have the privilege of discovering, between
Aswan and Abu Simbel, some less known Egyptian temples like Wadi es Seboua,
Dakka and Amada, saved from the rising waters. You will have the occasion to
observe a very rich fauna, sheltering the last colonies of Nile crocodiles, a
huge variety of birds (Ibis, Nubian geese, storks, pelicans, flamingos,
herons, egrets and other birds), monitor lizards, gazelles, jackals, fennecs
and the famous Nile Perch. Swimming, fishing and beautiful desert walks are
important activities of our 6-day cruise & desert programme on the lake.
|
|
Our travel groups of maximum 14
people will enjoy the hospitality of our Nubian-Egyptian boat staff and be
guided by an English speaking guide. On board our boats, especially conceived
for this kind of travelling and lake conditions, you will explore this real
inner ocean of fresh water and untouched nature. Sometimes we might meet a
Besharia Bedouin or a local fisherman on our way.

The
visit of the temples of Abu Simbel represents the highlight of each one of
our trekking tours. It will leave you with an unforgettable holiday
experience.
